Saint Petersburg Art Academy in Florence is located right in the center of a city in a unique 14th century palace – Palazzo di Cosimo Ridolfi.
A monumental palace is considered to be a national artistic heritage. The building, with a three-axis plan, is built by Corbinelli at the beginning of the 15th century and then passed to the Ridolfi di Piazza in 1483. A a founding father of Renaissance, Filippo Brunelleschi, recognized to be the first modern engineer, planner, and sole construction supervisor, worked at Ridolfi Palace. Due to this fact, the Academy’s exhibition hall is named in honor of Brunelleschi.
Ridolfi Palace is located in:
- 180 meters from Palazzo Pitti;
- 300 meters from Ponte Vecchio;
- 450 meters from Uffizi Gallery;
- 2 km from Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Piazza del Duomo.
